Structural Integration at Muscle Medicine

Structural Integration at Muscle Medicine Double Bay

Structural Integration is the signature treatment at Muscle Medicine Double Bay. Our Structural Integration therapists each bring up to 20 years of experience across a wide range of modalities. By combining advanced skills with a holistic approach, they deliver seamless treatments designed to restore balance, improve posture and support your long-term wellbeing goals.

Unlike standard massage, Structural Integration looks beyond short-term relief. It addresses the deeper layers of fascia and connective tissue that influence your body’s alignment, mobility and overall function. Whether you’re recovering from chronic tightness, postural imbalances, or simply want to move and feel better, this treatment offers a more comprehensive approach.

Why Choose Structural Integration at Muscle Medicine?

Our therapists use Structural Integration to:
  • Release restrictions in fascia and connective tissue
  • Improve posture and alignment
  • Relieve long-standing tension and stiffness
  • Restore fluid, balanced movement
  • Support overall wellbeing and performance

Each of our therapists has specialist interests and advanced training in different techniques, from myofascial release to trigger point therapy to tmj and lymphatic treatments, which means your treatment can be tailored to your unique needs. You can view their training and specialities in their profiles.

All our therapists are remedially trained, so all sessions are eligible for health fund rebates.

Is Structural Integration Right for You?

Structural Integration may benefit you if you:

  • Experience ongoing postural imbalances or movement restrictions
  • Feel chronically tight despite regular massage or stretching
  • Want longer-term improvements rather than temporary relief
  • Are seeking a holistic treatment that addresses both fascia and muscle systems

If your pain is acute or above 4/10, we may recommend starting with a Deep Tissue or targeted treatment first.

Who is a Structural Integration appointment for?
It’s ideal for people with chronic tightness, postural issues, or recurring discomfort that standard massage hasn’t resolved.
What’s the difference between a Structural Integration Therapist and other massage therapists?
Structural Integration therapists are trained to address fascia and alignment, not just muscle tension. Their advanced training means they combine multiple modalities to create a more comprehensive, long-lasting treatment.
Will my treatment plan always be with the same therapist?
Not necessarily. On occasion you may be recommended to one of our other therapists to assist with your treatment plan, binding a new set of skills.  All of our therapists share case notes and treatment plans, so you can expect continuity of care. However, if you prefer to stick with one therapist, you’re welcome to do so.
Does this mean other muscle medicine therapists only provide regular massages?

No, therapists at muscle medicine have worked with and been mentored by our Clinical Director, Coby du Preez and are on the journey towards structural integration.  They are developing specialised skills and will utilise these skills in their treatments, bringing more to your sessions.
